This grave marker, which is at Hackensack Cemetery, located at 289 Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey, reveals that Edward W. Seilheimer served in the U.S. Navy during World War I and died on May 20, 1980 at the age of almost 80.

Edward W. Seilheimer was not on the October 5, 1918 Honor Roll list, which was in the Evening Record, but this confirms his connection to Hackensack by being buried within its borders since passing and forevermore.

Edward Seilheimer is the brother of Philip Seilheimer, who was listed on the World War I list in the Evening Record newspaper of October 5, 1918.

Edward Seilheimer was married to Anna (Chomiak) Seilheimer.  Anna (Chomiak) Seilheimer was the sister of Nicholas Chomiak, who worked at Seilheimer Soda, along with other brothers, John Chomiak, Harry Chomiak, William Chomiak, and Peter Chomiak, who also served in World War II. George Chomiak, the youngest brother served during the Korean War.

The Seilheimer name was well known in Hackensack after World War II because they made soda called “Seilheimer” on Hudson Street in Hackensack and it was sold throughout the area.
